Communication Campaigns

Distell - Internal Awareness Campaign Working with Distell's environmental manager and communications staff, we developed quarterly awareness packages which highlighted what Distell was doing, featured the people who were doing it, and provided tips for staff to do at work and home.

University of the Western Cape A two-bin waste recycling system (one for dry recyclables, the other for waste) was introduced on campus - students and staff are now required to think before they throw. We developed prompts, signage and communications to help them remember to get it into the right bin.

Centre for Renewable and Sustainable Energy Studies (University of Stellenbosch)

This campaign promotes the Centre's pre-eminence in renewable energy research and development. Individual advertisements were designed to feature wind, solar, wave and biomass energy.

City of Cape Town/Waste Control

These advertisements were developed as part of a public awareness and education programme for Waste Control, contractors to the City of Cape Town. The purpose: to motivate recycling behaviour change amongst householders in the South Peninsula suburbs of the Cape. After a year, the level of participation in recycling by all households reached 80%, which is excellent internationally . (See 'Case Studies' for more detail.)
